A hearty welcome from our part of the world.

We are honored by your visit. Take your shoes off and relax.......

I grew up in Houston, Tx and lived there most of my life. About 6 years ago, I bought a 25 acre farm in Arkansas and moved here. During the last 5 years we have had a radical transition to our new lifestyle. We are geared to a self-sufficient farm, producing our own beef, pork, poultry, eggs, and growing our own vegetables out of our own garden and very involved in canning everthing we can. We burn wood for heat, and we have a propane heater for backup. Although still expanding, we are also producing our own electricity with solar panels I made in our quest to be self sufficient. We are still learning a slower pace of life. Used to, a laptop was a computer, now it is our puppy dog on our lap. A floppy disk was the disk for "A" drive, now it is when you pick up something too heavy. Log-on was getting on the internet--now it is adding a log to the wood stove. Hard drive was your motherboard on your PC--now it is just getting to Little Rock in a ice storm. Even the meaning of our terminology has changed.

Our hubs are true experiences during this transition as well as other experiences that we thought you might enjoy by sharing them with our readers.

It is our sincere desire that you enjoy them.
